Since fifth grade, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I didn't know in what field but I knew that I wanted to teach. When high school rolled around I got a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a class entitled "Examining Teaching as a Profession".

This class gave me the opportunity to visit a nearby elementary school every week and learn about how the educational career path  has progressed. Not only that, but I also got to visit schools with different ethnicities ,learning styles and teaching methods. Meaning that they have to accompany the different types of students compared to other schools. 

 

My sophomore year everything changed. Instead of being apart of a class, I got to be apart of an internship, that was called "Honors Work Based Learning". This allowed me to intern at an elementary school every day from 7:30-9:00 AM. I also visited a cohort once to twice a month where we would talk about plans for community service ,as well as planning out everything for future years in High school and when we got to college.
